Saturday and Sunday have 2 separate events running concurrently. The certified finals are only for the top 24 players that qualify for it. The other tournament is open to anyone who wants to play in it including the top 24 qualifiers who are playing in the finals. I spaced out the start time so the first 8 eliminated players from the finals can easily join the other tournament. But, if you play in both tournaments at the same time you run the risk of causing an ‘intentional delay’ of more than 60 seconds, as defined by IFPA rules, will result in a warning for first offense and a score of zero for second and subsequent offenses.

This is a Group Match Play Qualifying with Random Pairings to start and Tiered Swiss thereafter if available. If Tiered Swiss is not available then we will do Swiss. 12 rounds in total. 7/5/3/1 scoring. After 12 rounds the Top 24 Players make the Main Playoffs on Saturday. We will not have ‘B’ playoffs, you either make the playoffs or you don’t. Everyone will be seeded 1-24. Automatic Tie Breakers will be turned on. The exception to Automatic Tiebreakers will be for 8th and 24th positions. Those positions will have a 1 game playoff drawn at random by the tournament director immediately at the conclusion of qualifying. This will be done so all players know who are in the finals, who has choice of banks, and who they are playing the 1st round. Top 8 players receive 1st round bye in playoffs. Playoffs will be Groups of 4 players, 4 Rounds Total on 3 Game Banks with 4/2/1/0 scoring. Top 2 advance Bottom 2 Eliminated. Final position 1st-24th will be determined solely by your play in the playoffs. No points carry over from qualifying. 24th position is significant. All players who are tied at 24th who participate in the 1 game playoff who do not end up in the top 24 will have there final position in the tournament determined by the score of this one game playoff. So if 10 people are tied for 24th and only 1 makes it to the final the other 9 will have 25-33rd position will be determined by there finishing score/position on that tiebreaker game. Tiebreakers will be held immediately following qualifying but before the break.

Event 3: Classics Target Match Play 30 Points 3/2/1/0 Scoring
Saturday August 13th
7AM Doors Open
9AM Tournament Starts
3PM Estimated End Time
$5 prize pool money per person paid from Classics Qualifying
Tournament will use 30-40 of the Classic Pinball Machines inside District 82 Pinball but will not use Rows 7 & 8 as they are used for the Certified Classics Final
This is a Group Match Play Tournament with Swiss pairings and 4 players (3 if necessary) in each group. Scoring is based on player performance for that one machine (3/2/1/0) or (3/1.5/0). This will be added to a running total for the tournament. The first player to reach 30 points is declared the winner and the tournament is over. If multiple players reach the target score on the same round the player with the higher total is the winner. If they are tied a randomly drawn game will be selected for tie breaker. Only ties between 1st position will be broken with a 1 game tie breaker for the affected players. No playoffs or finals. Automatic Tiebreakers (if available in Match Play Software) will be turned on and will supersede any tie other than a tie for 1st place. A tie for first place is significant and will result in a 1 game playoff with the winner being the true winner and reported as such to IFPA for points. Any tiebreaks for 2nd-4th will be a 1 game tiebreaker chosen by the tournament director for prizes only. They will be reported to IFPA as a tie.
