Team Pinball League is brand new for 2021 and will consist of 4 person teams competing against all other players/teams on a monthly basis. Each month will consist of 2 separate nights and the results from both nights will be added together for the final results. Each month will be its own ‘season’ and awards will be given out each month for best team and individuals.
You need a name for each team! Get creative or use your company name. This is about having fun!
Cost will be $50 per person ($200 per team) per month and that covers both nights, all game play (everything on free play), bottled water and soda included, prizes for best individuals and team, side tournament with prizes too. Substitute players are permitted at any time. If you only come to 1 of the 2 nights you may get a substitute player but either way there are no refunds or credits if you can’t make the 2nd night.
We play 7 Rounds of match play style pinball with Swiss Seeding as an individual against other players and you get points based on your finishing position after each round. At the end of the night we add up the scores of each team for the final standings as a team. Don’t worry if you don’t know what that is I can explain it to you very quickly when you show up. In-between the 7 rounds of play there will be some down time and you can play anything you want. All games are on Free Play. We take the 2 separate nights per month and add the results together for final standings for individuals. No playoff for individual results unless we have a tie. Top 4 individual players each month receive trophies and the top 4 teams will do a playoff to determine the winning team.
Team Playoff
At the end of the 2nd night after we have added up all the scoring we will do a playoff for the top 4 teams. This format may change but currently we will do a 4 game multi-match with the 16 players from the 4 teams. The 4 highest seeds from each team will play each other, the 4 second seeds will play each other, the 4 third seeds will play each other, the 4 last seeds from each team will play each other. The highest ranked team for the month will get to pick the bank the games to be played on pre-printed sheets. The second highest seed will choose order for themselves first, then third highest, etc. Each game will be scored 7,5,3,1. After all 16 games are played we will add up the scores. The team with the highest overall points from the playoff will be the winner for the month!
Beginner league restrictions
To keep this a beginner league only 1 player from each 4 person team can be ranked in the top 1000 players from either the IFPA or Match Play Standings. If you are an experienced player you will find your rankings by checking these two sites.
