Saturday Night Pinball Tournament Format:
The Format will consist of 14 Rounds of Play in a head to head format with Swiss Style Seeding.
One game will be played per round per group.
Scoring will be 1 for a win and 0 for a loss
If we have an odd number of players someone will get a bye. That person will get a full win (1 point) for a bye
First round will be random seeding.
Subsequent rounds will be seeded using Swiss Seeding. Computer will try to match people with the same win loss record each round.
Since the tournament is direct play, there is no playoff. The winner is the player with the most points after all 14 rounds have been completed.
All games will be drawn randomly (but will alternate between DMD and non-DMD games) and should balance out so you’re not playing the same machine over and over again.
Should there be a tie for first place, another game shall be played as a tiebreaker. No other ties will be broken unless its for a trophy or prize. If the IFPA starts to sanction events again before the start of this tournament I will get it sanctioned and then all ties except for 1st place will be submitted to IFPA as a tie even if we break that tie for a prize or trophy.
Top 4 Trophies
Side Tournament Format:
Side tournament will consist of a 1 game qualifier that everyone plays sometime between the start of practice and the end of the final round of the main tournament. Everyone gets 1 try on the side tournament designated machine. You record your result on the machine by pushing the “Blue Button” on the computer that will record a screen capture of your score and your face. Then you write your score down on the pre-printed sheet of paper with everyone’s name listed. The top 8 players will do an 8 game multi-match playoff to determine the winner. 2 groups of 4 players each, based on seeding from the qualifier, will play 4 games group match play with 7/5/3/1 scoring. After the 4 games are played the scores are added up and the top 2 advance to the finals the bottom 2 are eliminated. Then the top 4 play for the win. This will not have trophies but I will have prizes for the top 4 players.
