September Open Tournament Format:
The format will consist of 12 qualifying games followed by a playoff to determine winners in the A, B, or C brackets.
All players will play 1 game on each of the 12 machines chosen for this tournament. You will be playing in the same 4 some for the qualifying rounds. You will write you actual scores down. Those scores will be recorded in the computer and ranked according to the PAPA qualifying scoring system (100,90,85,84,83…). Then the field will be divided into 3 groups of 16 players. A division is top 16, B division is 17-32, C division is 33-48. Only the Top 48 move on to the playoffs.
Playoffs will consist of a group style knockout tournament. This will be seeded using the results from the qualifying round. All the machines that will be used in playoffs will be per-selected and posted before the tournament begins. You will play a group of 4 people on 3 games. You will get 7,5,3,1 points depending how you place on those 3 games. The people with the top 2 scores move on; the people with the bottom 2 are out. If there is a tie the score from the 3rd game in that group will be used to decide whom the winner is. This will go from 16 people to start round 1 then 8 people start round 2 and then the final four play round 3 to determine the winners of each division.
