6 Tournaments over 4 Days
Over $25,000 in total prize money*
IFPA Certified Main Event
Play More Pinball!
There really is nothing else like the Pinball Super Series and 2023 is better than ever! This is a series of individual pinball tournaments held over 4 days. Each tournament has a different format, its own prize pool, and each is approved for IFPA points. Each player is also awarded series points based on their finishing position within each tournament. These series points are added together towards an overall series standing and prize money. This year we will again have 6 pinball tournaments in total, with 5 of these tournaments counting towards the overall Super Series Title. One of these 5 tournaments will be an IFPA Certified Tournament worth 250%-300% the normal WPPR points. You pay one entry fee then all the tournaments on Thursday-Sunday, game play on 100+ machines, etc. are all included for the weekend. Full details are explained below.
Registration Opens August 5th at 11AM Central Time. ‘Register’ Above First, Then Pay Below with ‘Buy Now’
I will be registering up to 10% of the register list, 15 people, in advance whom are either sponsors, 2022 winner, or those helping to make this event happen. Also, The IFPA Board of Directors (they don’t count in the total).
Registration for The Pinball Super Series is a 2 step process
- Secure your spot – be one of the first 150 people to register on this site when registration opens on August 5th at 11:00AM Central Time — That is the rush part and is the same it has always been for all my events. Exactly at 11AM a blue button that says ‘Register’ will appear (you need to hit F5 to refresh your browser). Click that button and give me your name and email then click submit. You can only register for one person at a time. Once you have secured your spot the rush is over, take a minute, and correctly pay for it.
- Pay for your registration – After you register, click the “Buy Now” button below which takes you to Square Pay or sending [email protected] a pay pal with the entry fee payment of $410. Pay Pal you can use either merchant or friends and family. Make sure you put your name that you registered with somewhere in the notes of the payments if different. I have to manually check the registration and payment systems separately and match them up. You can pay for more than one person at a time, just give me a note or send an email as to whom you are paying for. If you pay first you still need to register or risk losing your spot and having money refunded less any fees incurred by District 82. You can also pay cash for a $10 Discount ($400 Total), but only if you are coming to the Aug 15th Tilt’n Tuesday, Aug 16th Beat the Clock, or Summer Pinball Classic AND you send me an email saying you are going to pay in full on that date. All sales taxes, fees, etc., are in that cost. If you pay first and don’t secure a registration your money will be refunded (less any fees incurred by District 82). Follow the instructions and Register First, Pay Second. Make sure you read and understand the Refund Policy stated below.
THIS $410 NEEDS TO BE PAID WITHIN 24 HOURS OF YOU SIGNING UP. AFTER 24 HOURS ANYONE NOT PAID WILL BE REMOVED FROM THE REGISTERED LIST AND THE NEXT PERSON ON THE WAITING LIST WILL BE REGISTERED AND GIVEN 1 DAY TO PAY THE REGISTRATION FEE.
I will not be offering individual tournament registrations on this series of tournaments. Tuesday and Wednesday are not included in the Series and have their own separate registration and costs.
Pay for your entry into all 6 tournaments using the button below AFTER you secure your spot in the Super Series. Do not pay any money if you are not registered. Do not pay any money if you are on the waitlist. You will be contacted via email, if you move up from waitlist to registered.
DO NOT ‘BUY NOW’ IF YOU ARE NOT REGISTERED ABOVE!
The Pinball Super Series Event Details
6 Separate Tournaments over 4 days
Thursday Oct 12th, 2022 – Sunday Oct 15th, 2022
All 6 tournaments will count for points for your IFPA Ranking
5 of these tournaments will count towards the overall Super Series Ranking
Each Tournament will earn points both for the IFPA rankings with WPPR points and towards the overall Super Series Standings
–IFPA Points–
All the Tournaments Tuesday-Sunday will be approved for WPPR points from the IFPA
Tilt’n Tuesday is 112% TGP
Tuesday Details Here: https://district82.com/event/2023-tiltn-tuesday-19/
Wednesday Classics Kickoff is 152% TGP
Wednesday Details Here: https://district82.com/event/classics-kickoff-tournament/
Super Series Events 1-4 & 6 should each be 100% TGP (or very close) each for WPPR points from IFPA
Super Series Main Event 5 will be IFPA Certified for 250%-300% the regular points
–Super Series Points–
5 Tournaments will count towards the overall super series standings.
Events 1-4: The top 150 players in each tournament will receive points (150 for 1st, 149 2nd, 148 for 3rd, etc.) based on finishing position towards the overall Super Series Points.
Main Event 5: The Certified Tournament will count as 2x points (300 for 1st, 298 for 2nd, 296 for 3rd, etc.) based on finishing position towards the overall Super Series Points. This event has a finals portion for the top 24 qualifiers and these players will not know how many Super Series points they have earned until after the finals. 25th-150th do not advance to finals so they will know there finishing position and Super Series Points after qualifying is complete.
The Tilt’n Tuesday, Wednesday Classics Kickoff, & Event 6: Sunday 3 Strike Knockout; will not count towards overall Super Series Points
The Super Series points will be added together from all 5 tournaments in the Series. If someone won all the events the maximum number of total points earned for the entire Super Series would be 900. All the tournaments will initially be set up as a series in the match play software. Because we are giving double points to the main event and using finals from it to determine the top 24 of that main event we will have to use a separate spreadsheet to finalize the standings on Sunday. The player with the most points over the 5 tournaments will be the Grand Champion of The 2023 Pinball Super Series. The overall Super Series results will NOT be submitted to IFPA for extra WPPR Points. You earn your WPPR points from each of the 6 tournaments individually.
All Tournaments will be live streamed via Twitch by Fox Cities Pinball Stream

First round will be random seeding.
Subsequent rounds will be seeded using a Tiered Swiss Pairings if available in Match Play Software. If not available we will be using Swiss. Players are grouped into tiers that narrow as the tournament progresses. Later rounds will seed players with similar points accumulated playing each other. The winner is the player with the most points after all 13 rounds have been completed.
Only a tie for 1st place will be broken with a 1 GAME tie breaker for the affected players. No playoffs or finals. Automatic Tiebreakers (if available in Match Play Software) will be turned on and will supersede any tie other than a tie for 1st place. If there is a tie between 2nd-8th positions it will be broken with a 1 game tie breaker for the affected players to determine the trophy and/or cash received. To be clear a tiebreaker will only occur if the software says you are tied. If someone finishes with the same amount of points as someone else but Match Play gives those players distinct finishing positions from the Automatic Tiebreakers being turned on, we will go with what the match play software says. Tiebreaker game will be randomly selected and the game itself will be a classic era machine. When reporting this to IFPA for points those ties will be reported as such except a tie for 1st place. 12:30AM Est. End Time
You will play in groups of 4 players (3 when necessary), random seeding to start, then swiss style pairing thereafter. You will get 0/1/2/3 strikes per round (1 game per round). Once you receive 10 strikes you are out of the tournament. Once eliminated, you may stay and play all the games on free play the rest of the night. We alternate between A (DMD/LCD) & B (Classics) Groups each round. Your final position will be determined by the round and number of strikes you have. Example if you go into a round with 8 strikes and someone else in a different group goes into a round with 7 strikes; you both get 4th place adding 3 strikes to your total. You would have 11 strikes and finish behind the person who ended the same round with only 10 strikes.
A tie for first place will result in a 1 GAME Tie Breaker randomly chosen by the tournament director. Ties between 2nd-8th positions will be broken with a 1 Game tie breaker for the affected players to determine the trophy and/or cash received. Game will be randomly selected and the game itself will be either classic or modern based on what the next game choice would be been. When reporting this to IFPA for points those ties will be reported as such except a tie for 1st place. Also, the overall series points will be a tie as well. 1st Place is significant and will be reported as a win and not a tie. No playoffs or finals.

Event 5: Certified Main Event Double Up 2 Game Bank Qualifying
Saturday October 14th, 2023
8AM Doors Open for practice and check in
9AM Tournament Starts
1PM Est. Lunch
6PM Est. Dinner
10PM Est. End Time
Tournament will use all 100+ Pinball Machines inside District 82 Pinball. Each Bank will consist of 1 Modern Game (roughly 1992 & newer) and 1 classic game (roughly 1985 & older).
The Group Match Play Qualifier will be played in groups of 4 (3 when necessary).
Random Seeding to start, Rotating Order, then Tiered Swiss Style Pairings thereafter. If Tiered Swiss not available then Swiss will be used.
MatchPlay Software will most likely be used for the tournaments.
Each Round will consist of a 2 game banks consisting of 1 Modern and 1 Classic
10 Rounds in Total, 2 Games Per Round, 20 Games in Total
You will receive 7/5/3/1 or 7/4/1 scoring on each game based on 4 or 3 player groups
Automatic Tiebreakers will be turned on
Top 24 players make it to the final
Super Series Points will be based on final finishing position not the qualifying position in this tournament.
8th and 24th place will not use the Automatic Tiebreakers. All players tied with the same amount of accumulated points for the 8th and 24th positions will have a 1 GAME tiebreaker to determine who gets a bye and who gets into the final and who doesn’t. This 1 GAME tiebreaker is significant and will result in the final placing for all players who finish 25th or worse in the tournament. Game itself will be chosen by the tournament director and order of play will use the automatic tiebreaker finishing position with the higher seed getting last available order spot. Example: We have 10 players with the same amount of points who finish from 21st-30th in qualifying. They all get to play a 1 GAME tiebreaker. The order of play will be 30th goes first, 29th goes 2nd, 28th goes 3rd, etc. The highest score in the tiebreaker gets 21st seed & moves onto finals, 2nd highest gets 22nd seed & moves on, 3rd highest 23rd seed, 4th highest 24th seed. Then the rest of the group is out of the tournament with their final finishing position being determined by that tiebreaker. 5th highest would be 25th place, 6th highest would be 26th place, etc. all the way to 30th place.
This tiebreaker will also be significant for the 8th place position. Example: we have a 6 way tie for 8th place (8,9,10,11,12,13). Based on the Tiebreaker game the winner would get the 1st round bye, 2nd/3rd/4th/5th would be seeded 9th/10th/11th/12th and get a bank choice in round 1. The person that finished 6th in this example tiebreak would be seeded 13th in the main final.
Event 6: 3 Strike Group Knockout

Be aware that if you choose to play in 2 tournaments at the same time you run the risk of an intentional delay of more than 60 seconds.
Tournament will use most of the 100+ Pinball Machines inside District 82 Pinball except the ones in Rows 7,8 and Rooms AC1 & AC2. Each round will alternate the era of game played on. Odd Rounds will be LCD/DMD games Even Rounds will be Classics/EM games.
This tournament does not count for overall super series points but does count for IFPA points.
This Knockout Tournament is a 3 Strike Tournament played in groups of 4 (3 when necessary).
Random Seeding to start, then Swiss Style. Games drawn randomly.
Groups of 4 will play against each other on a single machine
The 2 players with the lowest scores in a group will receive a strike (3rd, 4th Place in the match)
3 player matches (as needed) only lowest score (3rd Place) will receive a strike.
Once a player has 3 strikes they are out of this tournament but are welcome to stay and play games as long as players are still in the tournament.
The tournament continues until there is one player remaining and they are declared the winner. No playoffs or finals. A tie for 2nd-8th place will result in a 1 Game Playoff. These tiebreakers are to determine who gets the prizes only. Game will be randomly selected and the game itself will be either classic or modern based on what the next game choice would be been. All ties will be reported to IFPA as a tie.

High seed in each group will get choice of Bank and Order on 1st game. Subsequent games the order choice is reversed with 4th place getting to pick first, then 3rd place next, etc. The games that are in the banks will be chosen by the tournament director before the start of the tournament and won’t be revealed to the players until the morning of the playoffs. The banks will have a mix of modern and classic pins and be different from round to round. Scoring will be 4/2/1/0 for each of the 3 games. Top 2 advance bottom 2 are eliminated. Should there be a tie for 2nd/3rd place a 1 game playoff will be played by the 2 affected players. That game will be chosen by the TD if needed.
The 8 Eliminated players from 1st round will finish 17th-24th according to how many points they accumulated in this round. Ties will not be broken.
In the Quarterfinal Round, the players advancing from the previous round will be reseeded according to their original ranks and divided into four groups as follows.
16 Players

Group 2: 2 7 10 15
Group 3: 3 6 11 14
Group 4: 4 5 12 13
The 8 eliminated players will be ranked 9th-16th according to the accumulated points in this round. Ties will not be broken.
For the Semifinal Round, the 8 players advancing will be divided into two groups of four. The groups will be organized according to the original qualifying rank as shown here:

Group 1: 1 4 5 8
Group 2: 2 3 6 7

The total scores for this round will determine the ordering of the winners. All ties in the final round are considered significant and will be broken with a 1 game playoff. The final reporting of points to IFPA will show 1st-4th place with no ties.
