Saturday Night Classics Pinball Tournament

Join us for our All Classics Pinball Tournament, open to anyone who wants to compete. This event features only Classic Era pinball machines (1985 and older).
We will be open to the public during this event and will run simultaneously with open play.

New players are welcome.

Doors Open: 11:00 AM (Open Play begins)
Tournament Start: 4:00 PM
Estimated Break: 6:30–7:00 PM
Estimated End of Qualifying: 8:30 PM
Estimated Finals: 9:00–11:30 PM

Entry & Registration

• $25 Entry Fee
• Entry fee includes Saturday Open Play admission (no additional tournament fee required)
• IFPA approved (200% TGP)
• District 82 pays the $1 IFPA fee per player

Tournament Format Overview

This is a Group Match Play tournament played on classic machines only.

Qualifying

• 5 rounds of group match play (4-player groups, 3 when necessary)
• IFPA seeding for Round 1, then Tiered Swiss (or Swiss if needed)
• Each round consists of games played one at a time
• Scoring per game: 7 / 5 / 3 / 1
• Automatic tiebreakers enabled

After 5 rounds:

• With 48+ players: Top 24 advance to Finals
• With 32–47 players: Top 16 advance
• With fewer than 32 players: Top half advance
• Top 8 receive a first-round bye (if 24-player finals)

Special tiebreakers will be played for ties affecting 8th and 24th place. These games determine final seeding and advancement.

Finals

Top qualifying players advance to a multi-round playoff consisting of 3-game banks per round.

• Scoring: 4 / 2 / 1 / 0 per game
• Top 2 in each group advance
• Bottom 2 are eliminated
• One-game playoffs will break ties affecting advancement
• All ties in the final round are broken by playoff game
• Final standings reported to IFPA with no ties in the Top 4

Final rounds include:

• Round 1 (Top 24 or adjusted field)
• Quarterfinals (16 players)
• Semifinals (8 players)
• Final Round (4 players)

Top 4 receive plaques.

If a qualified player does not appear for Round 1, the next highest qualifier may take their place.
